Know all men by these presents that I Richard Thurmond of Jackson County State
of Georgia for given good causes and considerations am thereunto moving but
more especially for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to me
in hand paid by Thomas Jefferson Thurmond of the County and State aforesaid
have given granted sold and confirmed and by these presents give grants sell
make over and deliver unto the said Thomas J. Thurmond his heirs and assigns
forever five negroes (viz) namely Old Polly, Big Dave Blacksmith, Dinah,
Mark, Diamond and their increase which negroes I do warrant and forever defend
the right title claim challenges or demand from any person or persons whomsoever.
Given under my hand and seal this first day of July 1810.

Know all men by these presents that I Richard T human of the County of St.
Genevieve Territory of Missouri and Township of St. Michael have this day
bargained and sold unto John Young all my right title claim and interest
to the quarter section I now live also my claim to a fraction adjoining to
the quarter section that I live on both of which I hold by virtue of my preemption
right both of these claims I will forever defend from myself and my heirs
in testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of
August 1818.
