There is a conflictof opinion as to the exact year depending on which source you prefer. The year 1735, according to Goodspeed's History of Southeast Missouri, and most of the descendants of the early settlers, is the most generallyaccepted date. Dr. Carl J. Ekberg, in his book, Colonial Ste. Genevieve,is of the opinion the date of the establishment of Ste. Welcome to the Saint Genevieve County MOGenWeb Page. I am Tim Stowell who is coordinating this site. I do not live in Missouri and although I have no ancestors in Greene County, genealogy has been an important part of my life for many years. I would welcome any suggestions or help with this page, especially from anyone living in Saint Genevieve County or with ancestors from there.
